Just a quick note from Brenda and I to say thank you for a great stay.
We will certainly recommend Bramleigh to our friends.
Just a pity that the weather prevented us from a walk in your forest, well maybe next time we will.

Hi Bettina,
Thanks again for the lovely stay we had at Bramleigh Manor over the Easter Weekend, it was just what we needed.
I will forward a few photos taken on Bramleigh Manor once we have settled back into our routine along with the species that we recorded.
Below is the latest copy of Lepsoc News which includes an article that Yolande did on Bramleigh Manor, just follow the link.
Kind Regards,
Justin

Hi Justin
Autumn time...
T his is certainly one of my favourite seasons of the year, and that is purely for all the rich and bright colours that can be seen in nature. And one place that can be visited in autumn is the Midlands, where you can experience a colourful display of bursting colours of green, burned orange, burgundy red and rusty brown.
Butterflies in other countries...
A collegue of mine, Justin Marshall went on vacation to the United States of America and visited the Cockrell Butterfly Centre in Houston. See if you can identify some of the butterflies that he photographed.
Gauteng News
A team of members will be going to Venda this weekend to go and explore the forests. A full report will follow in our next newsletter. This is the places that was visited in the last month:
Colours of the Midlands: Gaudy Commodore Heaven
Hunting in the Ncandu Nature Reserve
KZN News
The guys from KZN had a few busy weeks.
Steve Woodhall organized a Butterfly work shop over the long weekend in March were a few new members also joined in the fun. Here is some trips and outing for the last month:
Athlone Park's bizzare bush
Moths of Eshowe
Edible "Tips"
The winter is upon us, which
means snuggle time in front of a fire, hot chocolate and warm food and soups.
I have received this recipe from my aunt. It is the most
delicious sweet potato dish ever, and goes well with Sunday lunch cavery, even "braaivleis".
If you are on a diet and looking after your health, this is just the dish for you, because it is full of goodness...
Suitcase "Blues"
This month we will be featuring Bramleigh Manor in Nottingham Road in the Midlands. The owners, Bettina and Rodger are warm hearted, caring people who treat all their guests like kings and queens. This is a huge B&B guesthouse, with their own forest in their backyard, and offers 4 star service. Dinners can also be arranged. The Midlands Meander is a spectacular place to visit with lots to do for the whole family while you go out looking for butterflies.
Getting to know your fellow members...
We have a forum where we can get to know all the odds and ends about fellow members. Visit the Welcome Mat and get to know the members of the Society. We urge you all to do the same and post something interesting there about yourself...
Things to remember...
Don't forget to start collecting those pictures for the photographical competition where the results will be revealed at the annual Conference in September 2011. Read the terms and conditions on our homepage. Here are some dates to dairies:
7 - 8 May: Wahroonga trip
11 May: Gauteng branch meeting at the Nestle Centre, Water Sisulu Botanical Gardens
14 - 15 May: Southern Zululand trip
15-19 June: Manguzi & Northern Zululand
Till next time

Dank
Liebe Bettina, lieber Roger,
Herzlichst Jutta

After getting engaged at the Bramleigh Manor in 2009 we returned to SA this year for our honeymoon.
It goes without saying that we would visit the Bramleigh Manor again (twice!).
Bramleigh Manor is the place to have a holiday within a holiday. Great accommodation, great hospitality and wonderful surroundings are the recipe for a very relaxing stay.
We recommend the Bramleigh Manor to everyone who visits SA or who lives in SA and wants to get away for a couple of days.
Bettina and Roger (and staff) thanks for again for a wonderful stay and till the next time.

Narina Trogan
Dear Betina & Roger,
Thank you so much for the wonderful weekend.
The accommodation, food, hospitality and the friendly Lucy who "took us for a walk" were all superb but the hilight of the weekend was the stunning walks in the forest and the sighting of a beautiful female Narina Trogan on the morning of Saturday 30th October 2010. I heard a flutter in the trees, looked up and there she was. I saw her from the back at first, then she flew away and came back, preached facing me to give me a prefect sighting.
A weekend to remember.
Stephen and I would love to pay you another visit with our friends - probably February all going well.
With appreciation

Absolutely wonderful! Bettina and Roger are the perfect hosts. We were so impressed with the welcome card waiting for us in the kitchen with delicious cake. Bettina has gone out of her way to make sure all the rooms had fresh flowers in them. I wish I'd known about Bramleigh Manor when my children were younger as they would have loved the huge grounds to run around. Next time we stay there I'll make sure I take suitable shoes to walk through their forest. Thanks for the wonderful weekend Bettina and the for scrumptious meal you cooked for us on Saturday night

Liebe Frau Kauerauf!

Groete,
Jan en Felicia de Wet

Accommodation
Your accommodation – compared to all others we’ve stayed at - is TOP CLASS and we always seem to compare - where-ever we go – the rooms and food with what we experienced at Bramleigh Manor (so may months ago) because it made a lasting impression on us…..
